      I love pho... this is a great shot. I like the bit of movement. What are those things at the left side of the frame?

      Also, how close can you focus with that 55/3.5?

      i love it too iCyclops this at the famous pho hua pasteur in saigon and it is amazing. the things on the left are basically fried dough sticks that are kind of like an attached pair that you separate down the length. they are great dipped in the broth once you run out of noodles. i believe the name in vietnamese is bánh giò cháo quẩy or possibly just giò cháo quẩy (bánh is basically vietnamese cake in many forms - i often refer to this simple page for remembering names)

      this shot is with the 90/2.8 but the near focus on the 55/3.5 is just under 18 inches.
