Love Those Green Pecans
It was squirrel heaven in the pecan tree that day. Green or not--the squirrels loved the nuts, leaving none to ripen for the humans who own the tree!

Bleary-eyed Goldfinch
This little fellow let me get very, very close to him. Some of the time he actually seemed to be asleep. I believe he was dazed from a close brush with a predator, but perhaps he was just cold on this early morning and was having a hard time waking up!

It hasn't been used as a school for many years, but it is still beautiful, as is this quaint little town in the mountains of New Mexico. (If you're familiar with the award-winning book by William de Buys and Alex Harris, titled River of Traps...this is the town in which their narrative takes place.)
