Beefus, did you go on the three-hour tour? Twice? Was it on a bus, or a boat? Wonder how they kept you confined for that long....heehee. Great angle and color here. Love it...

Thaks all for the nice comments :)

The "three hour tour" was a poorly-crafted reference to the perceived visual similarity this boat had to the S.S. Minnow in Gilligan’s Island. This scene was directly outside a Japanese restaurant that I temporarily occupied with my wife and Mr. & Mrs. Pendeho.

Also, even had we gone on a three hour tour (a three hour tour)...the "Skipper" of this boat probably wouldn't have let me sit on the bow ledge anyway :(

No wonder you are driven to ledges.....

He watched Gilligan's Island, but he preferred Star Trek.

Gilligan's Island has the advantage that its theme song lyrics can be sung to the tune of "Stairway to Heaven".

Star Trek can only be sung to that old chestnut, "The Yellow Rose of Texas". (How Amherstian.)

How do you actually sing the Star Trek theme? I apparently didn't get the "lyrics" memo. Was it sung by William Shatner?

Thanks for the kind words Mark!

"ah-Ahhhh ah ahah ahah!
ah-AHHHHH ah ahah ahah!" etc

Um, there were some lyrics published in "The Making Of Star Trek" (written back in the 70s, to capitalize on the popularity of "The Making of 2001: A Space Odyssey"). If I ever heard someone sing it, I'm blocking that painful memory. (Probaby some sort of semi-evil filking--I'm sure I must have heard it in that sort of context.)

Beautiful shot! Perfect exposure and incredible light!

(meowhous, I think "ah-Ahhhh ah ahah ahah! ah-AHHHHH ah ahah ahah!" is actually the lyrics to Star Wars, not Star Trek. But I could be wrong...)

Thanks AA! Those are definitely the common lyrics to Star Trek...I think meowhous's accent threw you off :)

Nice golden evening shot,The subject looks like it may be a steel hulled vessel but the light might be throwing me off. The professer was always making and inventing stuff, why the hell could,t he fix a hole in fibreglass?....... but getting back to that ledge thing, (catbutler's comment) were you maybe dangling from a rope?

Thanks Clyde - Good point about the professor. Personally, I always wondered about the Howells. If the were so rich, what were they doing on a dinky little boat like the S.S. Minnow?

Re: Mary's (catbutler's) comment about the ledge, there's a few Flickrites that claim some of my photographic techniques are a little edgy :)
