I really like it and my kids seem to enjoy it also. Many people say it is not worth using in the classroom, but I disagree with them. The director went to so much trouble to make everything relate and come across. Yes there are differences between the play and the movie, but it is totally worth watching!

I agree about the Baz Luhrmann version. It's worth watching - I think they do a good job of capturing the paranoia and the desperation of the play by putting it into a modern context. Some of the cutting and the more obvious double entendres get to be a bit much, but it always sparks debates with my students. And Leonardo di Caprio is particularly good as Romeo.
