Carrying the torch in the rain
I passed this group today running with a torch from Mexico to New York City. In our brief conversation they told me that they were running for peace. From a brief look at their website, it appears that they deal with human rights issues for illegal aliens (although they don't call anyone illegal but I can't think of a more PC term right now).

This is pretty cool shot.
You don't need to be PC.

Aren't they called undocumented workers?

Dan, that is probably right. I am sure I could go wade through their website and figure it out but it's mostly Spanish and I translate at about a 3rd grade level. I figure it all out eventually. He kept stressing to me that they were running for Peace and talking about people coming to work and never seeing their families again and just wanting to reunite families. I could tell he truly felt his cause.

Actually, I found this in Wikipedia:
Due to the political contention surrounding immigration issues, the use of language to describe certain types of immigrants is a sensitive matter. Terms that refer to immigrants who do not have residency permits to stay in the country of their choice, include:
illegal immigrant
illegals
illegal alien
undocumented alien
undocumented immigrant
The terms "illegal immigrant" and "illegal alien" are common use phrases that refer to the illegality of the action of migration without legal authorization.

awesome catch, cool rain drops and he looks thrilled you are taking his pic!

They were thrilled that we were photographing them. When I do stuff like this people always assume I'm from the newspaper. I usually just keep my mouth shut and take the good seats with the press. lol My daughter grabbed my camera and took some shots of these guys and realized they thought she was with the newspaper and she really got a thrill. She might be a reporter now.

My daughter wants it known that she took this picture. I don't know. We were passing the camera back and forth.
But thanks for the nice comments.

UM, were they taking the torch back when they're done?
if not they're contributing to the illigal problem. (now they're armed with fire!)
