Crowsnest-in-D-Minor

Rum runners shooting it out with the mounties. Mountain collapses. Mining disasters. The Crowsnest Pass has its share of bloodshed.

Here between Bellevue and Hillcrest sits the skeleton of a coal tipple. Coal has fallen out of favour for more lucrative commodities and so the infrastructure built for it collapses back to the earth. One day coal will come back and so will the people and the new buildings and the new dreams. But until then in one of the windiest places in North America will sit these husks crumbling a bit more every year.
