Poached

I'll eventually get around to blogging this. Probably this weekend. But the short version is poach in rum with a bit of vanilla extract. Sprinkle with sugar and caramelize under the broiler. Sprinkle with a bit of all spice. Garnish with mint.

You can't really eat it raw, but poached it tastes a lot like pear. The raw fruit however, smells something like pineapple, and one fruit can make a whole room smell fantastic. I might buy another one just to keep around my bedroom for a few days.
