The camera. When folded up it's about the size of a lunchbox, and surprisingly light.

Wooden 4x5 film holder. Two sheets, one on each side. Some cameras of this era were sold with glass plate holders instead.

Leather case. It's been taped and patched along every seam. I expect it's seen a lot of traveling.

A very pretty Rochester Optical Company Pony Premo Model D, a wooden 4x5 folding camera. The original lens/shutter have been replaced with a Wollensak unit from a Polaroid Pathfinder Model 110 camera. The shutter is mounted upside down to clear the bellows latch lever. The original focusing scales are way off with this lens, so focusing must be done with the ground glass in the back.

It's an interesting combination. The Premo D was introduced in 1900, and the Pathfinder 110 in 1952, so this was already a vintage camera when the modification was made.

This once belonged to Mr. Dawkins, a friend of the family many years ago. His intials are written inside one of the film holders, and he's probably the one that switched the lens/shutter. It includes a battered leather case and three wooden 4x5 film holders.
