4th Balkan Conference in Informatics (BCI 2009), 17-19/09/2009, Thessaloniki, Greece
The 4th Balkan Conference in Informatics took place on 17th September 2009 and lasted 3 days. The conference was hosted on Capsis Hotel in Thessaloniki, Greece.

More than 100 participants attended the conference and approximately 70 presentations took place.

The conference proceedings were published in two volumes, one from the IEEE Publishing Service and one from the Alexandrian Technological Educational Institution of Thessaloniki.

Three distinguished invited speakers opened the three days of the conference:

-Prof. Dr. Keith Jeffery, Director of Information Technology & International Strategy, Science and Technology Facilities Council at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, UK.

-Michail Bletsas, Director of Computing at the MIT Media Lab, USA.

-Prof. Dr. Dimitris Karagiannis, Professor at University of Vienna, Austria.
