The Round Tower - Glendalough
A view towards the Round Tower in the Monastic village in Glendalough.
If you want to find out about the hostory of this amazing place, there's a detailed Wikipedia article.
The tower was actually back-lit so I had to do quite a bit of work on this shot. Ordinarily I tend to tonemap shots with poor lighting to get out the detail in the shadows, but with all that lovely sky to try keep natural that would have been a night-mare, so I used the Topaz Adjust plugin for Photoshop instead, this let me keep things a lot more natural, while still giving the image the punch I wanted.
This shot featured on my blog as Photo of the Week 134 to 141 - Allison & Steve Visit Ireland.
