Under Matt Goff Bridge

Under Matt Goff Bridge

Irish Rail 071 class diesel loco number 083 approaches Matt Goff Bridge on the return leg of an RPSI Santa Special.

Since it was raining I decided to try find somewhere I could be dry while shooting, and this was the best I was able to find :)

Matt Goff Bridge is quite a recent addition to the area, carrying the new dual carriage way link road connecting Leixlip and Celbridge to each other and to the M4 motorway, giving HGVs the option to avoid Maynooth village.

A Wet Santa Special

A Wet Santa Special

Irish Rail 071 loco number 083 running along the banks of the Royal Canal as it approaches Maynooth with an RPSI Santa Special, having just passed Pike Bridge. As you can see by the spots of rain on the canal, it was a very typical Irish winter morning!
