Plover Scar Range Front Light, River Lune, Lancashire.![]() ![]() This is described in Mike Millichamp's guide to English and Welsh Lights as:
Cockersand, Lancashire. Rear Light - The tall slate tower lighthouse on a white wooden support has been destroyed. The adjoining lighthouse keeper’s cottage remains situated on the edge of the River Lune near Cockersand Abbey. Built in 1847 the tower was 58 feet high and the light was visible for 7 miles. Front Light - A tall white painted stone circular tower lighthouse with a traditional light currently operated by the local Port Authority and situated at Plover Scar on the River Lune near Cockersand Abbey. Built in 1847 the tower is 27 feet high and the light was visible for 7 miles. The lighthouse is also known as Abbey Light. Commentshuees says:
