These sad remains of a once surely very beautiful half-timbered gable
I saw last year in Plau am See, in South Mecklenburg-Western Pommerania. I hope they will rebuild the house. As I was there I saw no one at
work.
Plau am See lies at the outlet of Müritz-Elde waterway from the lake
Plauer. The town grew from a Slavic settlement in 1235 and was called
Plaw like the area. This name remained until the 16th Century, but was
then written as pronounced Plau.

letzten Jahr in Plau, im Süden Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Ich hoffe, sie werden es wieder aufzubauen. Als ich dort war, sah
ich niemand bei der Arbeit.
Plau am See liegt am Ausgang der Müritz-Elde-Wasserstraße von der
Plauer See. Die Stadt wuchs aus einer slawischen Siedlung im Jahr 1235
und hieß Plaw wie die Gegend. Dieser Name blieb bis ins 16.
Jahrhundert, wurde dann aber so ausgesprochen wie geschrieben.
