The air traffic had returned to normal and so I could fly as planned to Bastian, my oldest son. He lives in Durango, Spain.
Again I have seen a lot from the Basque country and with my next photos I want to show you some of my impressions. In the eight days we were always on the move with our cameras.

Let me start today with a beautiful hike to the top of the mountain Saibi (945 m) in the Urkiola Park, located in the province of Biscay in the Basque country. The hiking tour was partially hard, but it was worth it both by landscape and by nature and finally because of the views we get at the peak. On our way we saw many horses they can walk around there freely, I mean without fenced in.

There also were some goals. I "talk" with one and it came nearer curiously.
Bastian looks as a miniature form in contrast to the foal. I think it is because of the perspective and his position nearly on the top.

The Urkiola Nature Park is one of the most unique ecosystems in the Basque country and extends over Álava (15%) and Biscay (85%). You can find it in the mountains of Duranguesado. The first you see are his comb-shaped limestone formations, which have less vegetation and forms a very beautiful contrast to the lush forests in the lower areas. It is structured by the Sierra de Anboto and the Sierra de Aramotz, extending northwest and southeast. The highest point of the park is the Anboto summit with a height of 1,330 m. The human settlements go back to prehistory and today dominates the traditional animal husbandry and forestry exploitation in this area (www.spain.info).

Der Flugverkehr hatte sich wieder normalisiert und so konnte ich wie geplant zu meinem ältesten Sohn Bastian fliegen. Er lebt in Durango, Spanien.
Ich habe wieder sehr viel vom Baskenland gesehen und möchte euch mit den nächsten Fotos einige meiner Eindrücke zeigen. In den acht Tagen waren wir immer unterwegs und mit dabei natürlich unsere Kameras. Bastian hat auch einen Account bei flickr und wenn ihr Zeit habt, schaut euch doch mal seinen Fotostream an ... es lohnt sich!

Beginnen möchte ich heute mit einer wunderschönen Wanderung auf den Gipfel des Berg Saibi (945 m) in dem Naturpark Urkiola, gelegen in der Provinz Biskaya im Baskenland.
Der Anstieg war teilweise anstrengend, aber es hat sich gelohnt sowohl von der Natur als auch von der Landschaft und schließlich von dem Ausblick mit dem wir oben belohnt wurden. Unterwegs sahen wir viele Pferde, die dort ohne Zaun frei herumlaufen können.

Es gab auch einige Fohlen. Mit einem davon habe ich mich "unterhalten" und es kam neugierig immer näher. Bastian wirkt auf dem Foto wie eine Miniaturgestalt im Gegensatz zu dem Fohlen. Ich denke es liegt sowohl an der Perspektive als auch seinem erhöhten Standpunkt.

Der Naturpark Urkiola gilt als eines der einzigartigsten Ökosysteme des Baskenlandes und dehnt sich aus über Álava (15 %) und Vizcaya (85 %). Zu finden ist er in den Bergen von Duranguesado. Als erstes fallen einem seine kammförmigen Kalkformationen ins Auge, die kaum Vegetation aufweisen und einen sehr schönen Kontrast zu den üppigen Wäldern in den niedrigeren Gebieten bilden.
Seine Struktur wird durch die Sierra de Anboto und die Sierra de Aramotz geprägt, die sich Richtung Nordwesten bzw. Südosten erstrecken. Der höchste Punkt des Parks ist der Anboto-Gipfel mit einer Höhe von 1.330 m.
Die menschlichen Siedlungen gehen bis auf die Vorgeschichte zurück, und heute herrscht die traditionelle Viehzucht und die Forstnutzung in der Gegend vor (www.spain.info).
