Campaigning

Campaigning by basykes.
Year 2, Day 175. Some in California are attempting to remove from gay couples the right to marry, which will set up two types of gay couples in the state--those who are married (they can't invalidate the legal marriages which have taken place) and those who are not permitted to marry, which is inequality to the n'th degree. I strongly support gay marriage and strongly oppose Prop. 8, so I've put up a lawn sign!

Your support is greatly appreciated, Bev!! If all were equal wouldn't I be able to vote on if a heterosexual marriage was valid? I'm gonna check out that website to see if I can get a sign! :oD

That's certainly been MY argument (that gays should get to vote on heterosexual marriage!) -- along with a lot of other arguments, of course!

GOOD point!!!!!
I am still trying to figure out how gay marriage affects "family values" ---- I mean, I'm divorced, and it's OK for me to remarry, and divorce, and remarry, and divorce, and.....etc, etc, etc........ but if my gay son falls in love, and wants to get married - just once - THAT would be against family values..... I just don't get it - at all!!!

(not to mention, he has to pay higher auto insurance rates - until they are 30, unmarried men have to pay more for their car insurance - I don't know what "happens" at 30 --- maybe they magically become responsible, even tho they are not married?)

I like what Wanda Sykes says about it - "If you don't believe in same sex marriage, then don't marry somebody of the same sex....."

sigh.....
