Went through the ice during this evening's sunset....just a leg, stayed dry...pffff. Close call...but it was worth it. The colors this evening were mind-blowing. Laying on the ice at minus nine degrees, trying to get the horizon straight and focussing is a pain. But what a great winter yet again!

Nature's deep freeze - Ezinge, The Netherlands
At -23〫C waiting for the light isn't the most pleasant thing to do. The morning of February 4 was the coldest sunrise I have ever experienced in the Netherlands. It was also the most beautiful. This is a stitched panorama made up from 3 horizontal exposures at 70mm.
