Overnight backpacking trip in NC. When we arrived at the top of Mt. Mitchell at 10 A.M. it was 22 degrees with 65 mph wind and snow flurries (the weather in Georgia has been 60-80 degrees during the day). We had planned on hiking the Black Mountain Crest Trail, adding another day, but the weather was a bit much for our gear.

My hands have never been colder in my life. Neither of us brought gloves. In our defense, this "storm" came out of nowhere.
