En la localidad toledana de Consuegra encontramos uno de los conjuntos de Molinos de Viento mejor
conservados de toda España, formado por doce de los trece molinos que
antaño coronaron la llamada Crestería Manchega, en lo alto del Cerro Calderico que domina la localidad; a los que se ha apodado con diferentes
nombres y apodos de El Quijote.
De los doce molinos que coronan el Cerro Calderico, cuatro de ellos
conservan la maquinaria en buenas condiciones: el Sancho, el Rucio, el
Bolero y el Espartero.
Entre ellos, el más interesante, sin duda, es el Molino Sancho, que
posee toda la maquinaria del siglo XVI en óptimo estado para su
funcionamiento.
El resto de los molinos cuentan también con apodos de El Quijote, como
Chispas, el Caballero del Verde Gabán, Mambrino, Clavileño, Alcancía,
Cardeño y Vista Alegre.
