Milan graffiti |
Like Barcelona, Milan deserves its own
space. They are quite varied, colorful
and widespread.
I remember arriving in Milan by bus,
but I do not recollect from where I
came. Did I fly into the airport? I
think I did. Or did I arrive by train
and then take a bus? I think the former.
As usual, I was travelling alone.
Well, the bus pulls into the railway
station in Milan and, as usual, I head
for the tourist desk to try find
somewhere to stay.
A few days later, I was downtown,
eating roasted chestnuts, visiting the
church, museum. What to do next? I
hopped onto a tramcar and, after about
15 minutes, spotted an incredible mural,
a whole block long, on a wall. I got
off the streetcar. I call it mural
because permission must have been given
for this work, a part of which appears
above. Maybe 95% of the graffiti in
this set results from that area alone.
Just another lucky encounter.
