The Sahara in St.Petersburg?

The Sahara in St.Petersburg?

Hmmm.....look again :)
Actually this is the roof of Temple Bethel here in St.Petersburg and once a year they have an amazing Art Show. As we were leaving the show, this sight caught my eye and I just had to....."click".

Palm trees are always so REFRESHING to me and I am surrounded by them. I never tire of seeing them....just lovin' that tropical feel and sometimes I have to pinch myself that I live in such a tropical place....I love it and am so grateful!

...And may YOU have a REFRESHING day my wonderful & talented friends!!

"Those who REFRESH others will themselves be REFRESHED!" Proverbs 11:25
Count on it : )!
Enjoy! : )

Stops Me In My Tracks

Stops Me In My Tracks

I didn't even know this pelican was in this sunset shot until after the fact! He was so quick and intent on getting his evening meal that he entered the frame, right when I clicked and "stopped him in his tracks" right in the rays of the sunset...such a pleasant surprise : )

And just like I "stopped him in his tracks" with my camera, this story below did the same for me.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

~Wow this story is gripping and a good reminder.~

A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery. He answered the call ASAP, changed his clothes and went directly to the surgery block.
He found the sick boy’s father pacing in the hall waiting for the doctor. Once seeing him, the dad yelled:
“Why did you take all this time to come? Don’t you know that my son’s life is in danger? Don’t you have the sense of responsibility?”
The doctor smiled and said: “I am sorry, I wasn’t in the hospital and I came the fastest I could after receiving the call…… And now, I wish you’d calm down so that I can do my work.”
“Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm down? If your own son dies, now what will you do??” said the father angrily.
The doctor smiled again and replied: "Doctors cannot prolong lives. Go and pray for your son, we will do our best by God’s grace”
“Giving advice when we’re not concerned is so easy” murmured the father.
The surgery took some hours after which the doctor went out happy, “Thank God! Your son is saved!” And without waiting for the father’s reply he carried on his way, running. “If you have any questions, ask the nurse!!”
“Why is he so arrogant? He couldn’t wait some minutes so that I could ask him about my son’s physical state”, commented the father when seeing the nurse just minutes after the doctor left.
The nurse answered, tears coming down her face: “His son died yesterday in a car accident, he was at the burial when we called him for your son’s surgery. And now that he saved your son’s life, he left running to finish his son’s burial.”
It's always wise to think twice before coming to conclusions about people because you never know what is going on in someone else's life and what they may be going through. (Author Unknown)

"...But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger" James 1:19

Such a powerful reminder to me, maybe it is to you too : )

Hope you have a sensational Saturday! And thank you for your wonderful visits, kind words and your amazing photography! You are amazing, gifted and overflowing with talent! And you are a Keeper! : )

A Great Way To Ask...

A Great Way To Ask...

Boat-Tailed Grackle en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boat-tailed_Grackle

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:

A Great way to Ask:
"Heavenly Father, Help us remember that the jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is a single mother who worked nine hours that day and was rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and spend a few precious moments with her children.

*Help us to remember that the pierced, tattooed, disinterested young man who can't make change correctly is a worried 19-year-old college student, balancing his apprehension over final exams with his fear of not getting his student loans for next semester.

*Remind us, Lord, that the scary looking bum, begging for money in the same spot every day is a slave to addictions that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares.

*Help us to remember that the old couple walking annoyingly slowly through the store aisles and blocking our shopping progress are savoring this moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she got back last week, this will be the last year that they go shopping together.

*Heavenly Father, remind us each day that, of all the gifts you give us, the greatest gift is LOVE. It is not enough to share that love with just those we hold dear. Open our hearts, not just to those who are close to us, but to everyone You put in our path. May we be slow to judge and quick to forgive, and be patient, kind, full of empathy and love." Anonymous

For we know that anything is possible and one day that we may be one of these people and would welcome kindness, understanding and patience. As You remind us in Your Word in Matthew 7:12, help us treat others the way we would like to be treated :) Amen

Blessings on your day and hope you have a great one and keep on clickin' those amazing shots of yours!!

It's a new dawn...It's a new day...It's a new life...And I'm Feelin' Good

It's a new dawn...It's a new day...It's a new life...And I'm Feelin' Good

SUNRISE at Ft.Desoto & "Feeling Good"

Sung by Michael Buble: www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_ig1gkgoQc
Written by English singer-songwriters Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse for the 1965 musical "The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd" and has been covered by many, many artists. (Thanks Tim : )

Birds flying high, You know how I feel, Sun in the sky, You know how I feel
Breeze driftin' on by, You know how I feel, It's a new dawn, It's a new day,
It's a new life, For me, And I'm feeling good, I'm feeling good
Fish in the sea, You know how I feel, River running free,You know how I feel
Blossom on a tree, You know how I feel, It's a new dawn, It's a new day It's a new life
For me, And I'm feeling good
Dragonfly out in the sun you know what I mean, don't you know
Butterflies all havin' fun you know what I mean, Sleep in peace when day is done
That's what I mean, And this old world is a new world, And a bold world,For me
Stars when you shine, You know how I feel, Scent of the pine, You know how I feel
Oh freedom is mine, And I know how I feel, It's a new dawn, It's a new day, It's a new life
It's a new dawn, It's a new day, It's a new life, It's a new life for me, And I'm feeling good
I feel so good

LIFE GIVING WORDS :
"The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail, THEY ARE NEW EVERY MORNING; Great is Your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23

Enjoy, enjoy your Sunday : )
(P.S. ........all the birds in this pic were there, nothing cloned in : )
