The End - front view
The wheels were straighter during the races. Got a bit bent while playing with friends afterward. The wheels are in fact the secret to success. If you raise one wheel a bit and ride on just the other three, you can actually make a faster car. We did that last year, and it worked like a charm. But, in our "re-building" year, we tested a more traditional four-on-the-track design. Our main speed secrets this year were moving the center of gravity toward the back, weighing in at exactly 5 ounces on the first weigh-in, and keeping the axles straight and powdered with regulation graphite. Results: Finished in 2nd twice and 3rd place three times, in six-car heats. So, just a notch above average.
