I love this shot. You can feel the butterflies in their stomachs as they are watching the returns.
I know I watched TV with a confidence in the polls (and the wonderful campaign staff's efforts), but there was always that nagging fear that kept you on edge.

this is a great shot although i wish it were higher-res so it didn't look so soft.

I think they're watching McCain still. Some concern about what he might say? Really captures the moment, though. Thanks for this -- I really appreciate seeing our leaders as human.

The whole Obama clan is looking tired - it was a long race and these kids are so young!

Sasha looks hilarious here. Love it.

This captures the moment when McCain concedes, and they realize the awesome responsibility and work that is upon their shoulders now. McCain's speech was amazing and just added to the joy and euphoria - justifiably so - of the evening.

Those girls are so cute!
I remember jumping on the Obama bandwagon in early 2007 after listening to his podcasts. I thought it very likely he would lose but I had to donate to the campaign and tell my family and friends to support him.
I can't believe the best man for the job actually won!

I think they are watching the McCain concession speech based on the previous pics in the series. Gibbs looks snarky while he's reading his blackberry. Everyone else, including the kids look humble and compassionate. I thought McCain's speech was a million time more honorable than his campaign. I don't think that was lost on the Obama's.

I wonder what's in the box???

I wondered why they all looked so serious in a lot of these. It seems it's because they're watching McCain's speech, and they realize they don't have to take joy in his defeat to enjoy their victory. I can not wait for our country to be led by such smart, classy people.

I wonder if this was seconds before they won Pennsylvania or Ohio? Great photo

The other thing to remember is that they just lost a beloved family member. So they might be thrilled at the victory, but I'll bet they're still grieving and also wiped out from the campaign.

What was achieved on Nov. 4th is truly a victory and in no way should it be seen otherwise within its' right. But not for the same reason it is also the spark which will ignite our constitution doused over the years with the fuel of dwelling liberties by the very people it was designed to protect.

Dear President Obama
I produced this as a means of supporting
your efforts in the quest for world peace.
I used the images as a means of innuendo.
.
The Video is called;
"Show us the way President Obama"
I am honored by your win, your presence in
American politics and your extreme courage
to change the very fabric of our nation for the
better.
The video is here at;
www.youtube.com/watch?v=8r7CZARwU2k
Love Stan
A proud American
P.S. To all others viewing this, it is a
very strong message and the only way
to fully understand the intent is to watch
it all the way through.
If it is overwhelming, book mark
and come back later.
If you think it inappropriate,
to this I say these people like you
have hopes, aspirations, dreams, family
and every single one of them still breathing
now belong to our new President.

I agree the kids look bored - if i was their age I would be too. :D
