Very, very soothing to see. A loving mother, for a first lady, who sees her first role as a mother to her kids, no nanny, even if she could afford one. She's truly an inspiring woman. I believe she would reinstate old values to the family system.

Ok, this is the pic that made me cry. We're so lucky to have such an amazing family to look to.

Just one of many lovely pictures. Thank you for sharing them with us. I'm much happier about the world in general knowing you will be in charge, and your family are lovely. If it's true that Malia has an allergy to animal hair, acupuncture can help this (the Western Scientific sort, not Chinese Traditional). I had a severe allergy of this type some years ago. One treatment that lasted about two minutes and the problem was "switched off". It didn't hurt either.

What a wonderful family, first time I actually felt a kind of happiness for the first family and a sense of the shared wonder they must feel looking toward the future. Such lovely REAL people, I look forward to the next term plus the rest of their long lives as they become wonderful adults.

Flickr is so slow tonight and I guess it's because web sites (example bbc) are linking to this stream today. Millions are viewing these great pics

This family is experiencing things most of us can not even imagine. The highs, the lows, even the in betweens are all in a special set of circumstances that the rest of us will never fully understand. President Elect Obama's family seems to meet every challenge with amazing poise and grace. I want to thank them for sharing their Dad with America.

I am so glad that Michelle made it clear to the world that her first job/responsibility will be Mom-in-Chief/First mom to her children!! Great and inspirational woman to all women!

This photo made me melt. I can only imagine how overwhelming this experience has been for the girls. I see total LOVE and admiration from baby-girl to her big sister. When they grow up, this photo will be one that brings a flood of memories back into focus for the girls and their Mommy. The Obamas do have a righteous wind at their backs. It appears they are soaring through this life as Soul with a loving purpose and enlightening agenda. Keep doing what you do and thank you for stepping up!

A beautiful and intimate snapshot of America's first family. It makes me realise that behind the campaign, the hope, dreams and pressures of your new post there beats the heart of an everyday family...a mother and her two daughters. Well done.

words can't express the sense of peace and amazement I felt while watching the electorial votes. Your family is wonderful and oh how I wish I could be apart of it! Then a pause for a moment and realize that I am. You allowed us to be apart of your family! and I thank your for allowing us to see how it feels to truly be apart of the United States!
