Worlds within Worlds

UPDATE, Tuesday 10th March - I've just found out that I won the "Your Mission" competition in April 2009's edition of Digital Camera magazine with this image.

Really chuffed - the people next to me at the magazine rack at Tesco thought I was having a seizure! :-)

2nd go at "The Paperclip" - This is what happens when you listen to your critics. :-)

(Originally inspired from a photo by Jeffffd)

I decided to take it further and use a gel this time and lighting on 2 planes so that I could get a blue background and retain the colour of the orange paperclip. This is one of those rare occasions where I've revisited a shot rather than just put it on the "reshoot one day list."

Strobist info - Paperclip floating on water with a CTBlue gelled Pentax 240z strobe on full power.
Canon 430EZ on 1/4 power to camera left to light the orange paperclip.

i find that there is a very weird effect if you view it on large and focus on the paperclip. I start to see white spots on the grid intersects with your peripheral vision.
