The reason the clouds look weird and the mountains look so surreal is because the image has been distorted, or at least scaled up vertically.Here is a proper shot from the same location. Some peaks in that area do have those proportions though!

You really disapoint me. I guess in this world of photoshop you can't trust a photograph from what is real. I want to see reality in nature. Using photoshop for creative art is another thing. The original photograph is magnificent in itself, just as God made it. It didn't need to be doctored up! I won't trust your photography from now on.

Vous la traduirez simplement selon votre propre perception.
Avec Photoshop j'ai voulu créer un monde fantastique ou onirique qui me plaisait, à moi. J'ai été heureux par ailleurs de montrer cette petite création mais je ne vous ai jamais demandé de me suivre dans cette voie...! Je signale aussi que le paysage en question peut être totalement différent selon que vous le photographiez avec un fish-eye, un grand angle ou un télé, avec ou sans fitre chaud ou polarisant, de face ou en contre-plongée etc..
En un mot "qui m'aime me suive" et si vous ne m'aimez pas, tant pis pour vous ou pour moi, mais je continuerai, croyez-le bien, à faire exactement ce dont j'ai envie!!!

@N Wylie - Why not learn French? Why should everyone else use English just because you know only one langauge?

First of all, you'll never reach the reality with a simple lens. The result is different according to the lens used: fish-eye, wide angle, tele and it depends too with the filters used (81B warm, polarysing, Galen Rowel/Singh-Ray etc..).
In this case the photo has been worked with PS but it was a thought process..."let's make a dream".
However I understand you are not obliged to folow this way.
Secondly: the altered one and the original one "Intro Torres...) are in my photostream, so in my opinion, you can't say "won't trust...from now on".
At last, can you explain why the first has been viewed 1178 times and the second only 70 times?
Many people in Flickr love dream or oniric scenery, may be...
I'm waiting your response in french dear N Wylie artist and have mercy upon my bad english!!!

Thank you Bajv for writing back in English, and by the way, it is very good. I really wish I did know French. I know a little Italian, German, and Russian, so Chinapix, I do know more than one langauge. Flickr happens to be from America and English is what we speak. I wish we were more like Europe with people knowing several languages.
Bajv, thank you for your explaination, but I agree with Chinapix that if you altered your photo you should have said so in your comments. That would have made all the difference. I feel as though I was deceived in thinking it was a real scene, hence I faved it, but I too took it off like Chinapix.
Your work is very nice and creative, just tell us when you are doing alterations.

Photoshop takes a lot of skill to use, and requires as much creativity as photography.
