Reflections
Bails takes out her phone and a white card falls on the table next to her. She'd pick it up turning it over slowly, a smile creeps across her face as she reads the black writing on it.
Sitting down she'd tap the card on the table while she stares off replaying the previous evening over in her mind. Time to drop the facade she's worn..... she'd unwrap her tail letting it fall loose again, swishing it back and forth to fluff it out. Next her ears, flicking them back and forth. Pulling the sticks from her hair she lets it fall around her shoulders giving her head a shake. Purring happily she kicks her shoes off wiggling her toes. The shoes.... smiling she remembers his comment about them. She walks to the closet searching the contents. Finally she pulls out something comfortable, something totally opposite of who she has been all night. Her face grows serious though as she thinks about how close she may have come to total disaster. She knew everytime she went to the club she took a chance. Now that he knew, he literally held her life in his hands. Not that it would keep her from Hellfire, she'd still go and play the game, walk that razor's edge of insanity. Would he betray her or could they come to some.... agreement. Time will tell. Slipping her glasses on she reaches over to the books on the table, which one...... Finding the one she wants she smiles and opens it to the first page and begins to read... "Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again..." Looking up from the book she glances outside watching the steady stream of people go in and out of the taxi stand. Do they know they are being watched? For someone, today will be the last day they venture out into the city. Shaking off a sudden chill she goes back to her book. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSwGDqlileY Would you like to comment?Sign up for a free account, or sign in (if you're already a member). |
