* the fence is now covered in blue plywood with all the necessary
warnings and permits.
* orange and white plastic barriers are new.
* the sidewalk is closed, engulfed by the plywood enclosure around the
site
* you can see a backhoe working in there
* some banners for "culture fest" are up on the lampposts on
the right
