Here a bore tide is pushing its way up the inlet.
Bore tides are created when the tide starts coming in as water is still trying
to funnel out.
The larger body of Cook Inlet is to the west (right) and the bore tide was seen traveling east (left) over at least a 20-minute period. This one doesn't seem that large although we were about 1,500 feet up at the time.
