THANK YOU so much for your comments and invites !!

MY THOUGHTS go out to all those very unfortunate people affected by the horrendous flooding in Cumbria and South West Scotland, caused by over FOURTEEN inches of rain falling in just two days, an unprecedented event in the UK. A policeman, a Father of four, his birthday tomorrow, swept to his death whilst doing his duty.
With more rain forecast over the weekend, I can only hope that all of you who live there will stay safe !

This view is of Hamnoy, where the mountains rear straight up from the sea, and adopt outrageous shapes !! One after the other, in a mind boggling, jaw dropping array, you travel along as if in a dream !!
Around every corner, there is a photographic opportunity.
I got lucky with the light here......it isn't so exciting with full sun and nice weather !! An early (ish) morning shot.

For those that are interested, I have added some pics to the "Lucy" set...Lucy is my Border Collie pup.

We've just finished a bit of rain here as well but nothing even remotely close as 14 inches in two days...but even our smallish rain causes some flooding so we must be careful and vigilant as well to avoid tragedies like the one there....

You are really canny the way you know what you want in the way of dramatic lighting, and have either the patience or the instinct to get it!
The way the light picks out those gulls and the buildings is pure poetry, and how you found a wee lime green boat to jazz up the colour palette has to be more than luck!
My thoughts also go out to those who have suffered so much in that dreadful flooding - especially that policeman's family. I can only hope everyone can stay safe as more is forecast.

Wow, Barbie, you got a winner here! I am so amazed how you can take such a dark scene and pull out so much depth. I love the way the whites and reds (particularly the detail of the seabirds) pop out of the darkness. What's up -- you posting about once a week these days?
