> thanks, nonie vogue, talix and auntikhaki! this girl's name is fatima and she lives in khartoum. i took this picture right when i first met her and had the privilege of meeting her and her entire family on several visits to sudan. most memorable was the tigrinya coffee ceremony (originting in ethiopia) that i exprerienced on multiple occasions in their home. it was unique in that they put crushed ginger in the freshly roasted, ground and brewed coffee!
> talix: thanks so much for your appreciation of my shots. your words are a photographers dream!

“Look, I really don't want to wax philosophic, but I will say that if you're alive, you got to flap your arms and legs, you got to jump around a lot, you got to make a lot of noise, because life is the very opposite of death. And therefore, as I see it, if you're quiet, you're not living. You've got to be noisy, or at least your thoughts should be noisy and colorful and lively.”
