Six orphan lambs. 5/8 Katahdin x 3/8 Dorper. They were named after President Bush's cabinet and other prominent Republicans. The little fellow in the back right corner (Rudy) was born to a litter of 4, so I took him from his mother for bottle feeding. Three of the lambs came from a ewe that died after the lambs were born (delivered). Only one of the lambs was used for meat. I ate the Secretary of Homeland Security (in case, you ever wonder what happened to him). This photo won a photo contest.

	baalands says: Katahdins are very prolific, averaging over two lambs per ewe. Though possible, AI is not that practical in sheep (in the U.S.) This is one of my favorite photos. Posted 7 months ago. ( permalink )
