Your all idiots. We're not fighting this war for oil..obviously, otherwise it would be cheap.
Second, foreign oil makes bush's oil cheaper (from his wells in texas)..so if he were really the evil sob people thought he was, he would just bomb iraq to death and make america more dependant on HIS oil.

Texas doesn't have any oil anymore stephen. The state had to switch from oil wells to oil refineries. Meaning the state relies on cheap foreign oil to make money.
The fact that the price of oil just keeps going up merely demonstrates that world oil production has peaked, or soon will.

This reminds me of the Arab saying that goes something like this—"My grandfather rode a camel, my father drives a Mercedes, my son will ride a camel." So peak oil was written into their culture already. They're just afraid we'll realize this and transition to alternatives before they get to sell the rest of it. Same as the oil companies. But looks like we won't so they get to drive the price up until...
