New Ubiquity Look

I've been experimenting with the new skinning ability of Ubiquity, trying to come up with a better layout. In particular, I'd like keyboard focus to work in the preview area. What do you think?

Square is the new round! :)

I actually really like the look of this, although I might suggest a contrast difference between the typing area ("m chicago") and the command selection area (beneath it).

I would do more to visually link the map with the command ("map chicago") the user is selection. Both pieces are looking solid, but right now they do not look connected - so it's not visually apparently that the map flowed directly from the command, and that the rest of the labels would provide similar overlays.

@beltzner: Which way would you do it? I.e., which would you give more contrast?

@Rito: Any thoughts on how to do that? Originally I had the little arrow go the other way, but that was hard to implement when I went from mockup to implementation.

I think I might keep the Ubiquity command window light, and then available commands displayed as slightly darker, with the selected command matching the colour of the command window. That way ENTER (typing) is tied to the thing that will happen when you hit it.

I always thought that it would be cool if Ubiquity had some of the traditional elements of a command line interface. Specifically persisted results. I mockedup an example:

The nerd in me like what you're doing, Greg, but I think it would actually make the interface a little more complex to use. One thing I do like is the ability to get a quick list of "verbs" that are available .. would be nifty if typing ? always brought those up.
