sea o' buttercups, I'm afloat

    Out on the Carrizo Plains, adrift in the buttercups yesterday morning.

      Hanni, this was with a midrange zoom, the Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS, at 200mm f/3.5. Gives a nice compressed field of view with a narrow DOF and a smooth blur.

      I haven't seen many non-people pictures from you. Love the shallow DOF. The little guys at the center of the frame look like they're reaching for the sky.

      Stone - I actually didn't walk through the buttercup fields. Couldn't bring myself to leave tracks in the loveliness. A few times I picked my way through less thick spots, but mostly took these from the edges of the fields.

      So lovely - probably going back there tomorrow for the day! Yip yip yippee.
