surreal seaweed sunset

Tonight was an exceptionally lovely night. Warm, calm, clear, and magic. Found me some seaweed (which I took home with me it was so cool) & crawled around on the wet sand in blue jeans for this shot. :) So worth it.

This is beautiful, of course, but what's that round thing?

    17. Sara Heinrichs (awfulsara) (80 months ago | reply)

      That's a really big rock. ;)

No, seriously, are you talking about the end of the seaweed? The round ball bottom right? That's the hollow bulb, to make it float. At the top of the bulb, broken off and missing in its journey ashore, are the leafy strands of the kelp that form the kelp "forests" offshore. I hear it's magical to dive in kelp forests, but I never have.

      And thanks all!

I just noted that the square icon crop is very nice for this pic. Makes it even more supernatural.
