North Pakistan
Northern Pakistan is the term used to refer to the high-altitude region in the northern part of Pakistan that includes 12 of the world's 27 highest mountains as well as three of the seven longest glaciers outside of the polar regions of the world. Sometimes referred to as the "Third pole of the world", three of the greatest mountain ranges of the world; Karakoram, Hindukush and Himalaya meet here.

Northern Pakistan includes the north-most part of NWFP province (Kaghan Valley, Swat Valley and Chitral Valley) and the Northern Areas administrative region that includes five of the fourteen highest peaks of the world, the "Eight-thousanders" (peaks above 8000m); the area also contains the Indus river flowing through valleys to the international tourists it is called "The Eighth Wonderer of the World".
