David Bowie

This is one of my favourite concert shots, and also my favourite artist.

This is David Bowie in Vancouver on September 11th, 1983. This was the concert that was filmed for his Serious Moonlight video.

This is one of those surprise photographs... you take the time to frame up your shot... make sure the lighting is good, and then wait for the right moment to take the shot... just as I took this shot, someone's fist shot up in front of me... and what a brilliant shot! Love the repetition between the fist and Bowie's left hand. I also love the silhouette of the backup singer in the background.

I saw this tour three times! Once when he first came in August of 1983 to B.C. Place, a big stadium. Then he came back to film the Serious Moonlight Tour at the Coliseum over two days in September and I went both nights! These were taken the first night of the taping. Oh... and I met Bowie too! :-)

Cool... I didn't meet Bowie at the time of this concert I met him a few years later, the Glass Spider Tour August 15th, 1987. Sadly - no pictures from that concert!

Great shot- saw him in Milton Keynes for Serious Moonlight and Cardiff for Glass Spider was that 1987 - God I feel old now - there is no better than Bowie - excellent taste aLias jL .

I saw Bowie at the NEC in Birmigham England on that same tour! my second ever gig, I was in awe of him, what a gig all his hits plus great highlights like Station to station!
