Save Darfur: Al Bashir Ads (Various Publications, July 2008)
When the International Criminal Court (ICC) indicted Sudan's President Omar Al Bashir for the genocide and systematic rape of tens of thousands of people in Sudan's Darfur region, Bashir's regime responded by threatening more terror against Darfurians and the UN. He also began appealing for protection from powerful international friends who buy oil from and sell weapons to Sudan.
Al Bashir knows that he will be caught only if other governments, especially Arab and African governments, agree to help the International Criminal Court. To make sure this happens, Avaaz launched a large regional ad campaign, urging the leaders of these nations to save Darfur by helping the ICC. The campaign continues: www.avaaz.org/en/save_darfur/ Would you like to comment?Sign up for a free account, or sign in (if you're already a member). |
