amazing...never knew you could get "horizontal" rainbows...so I guess there is no gold pot at the end of it? :P

Great work Austin...darn finals and group study sessions....I missed ALL of this! I'm glad you captured it. The news featured several folks's shots tonight. Yours with the B17 beats em.

Wow, beautiful! I think this is "cloud iridescence", but i'm not 100% sure.

Superb capture. I saw a sunrise rainbow this morning... obviously it can't be compared to this, but it made my day.

wow, thanks, everybody--just luck and tsack's fortunate overhearing of someone seeing it at the dog/frisbee competition we were shooting at...check out his shots, too!

TOTALLY AWESOME! If I hadn't seen the atmospheric phenomenon and the B17 myself, I'd suspect you of photoshoppery. Blame it on luck if you'd like, but at that moment you were the Einstein of photography. Sell this baby for huge bucks to some magazine or something.

Absolutely stunning. I hope you'll consider posting this to the SayWA group.

Stunning shot and even more amazing yours and tsacks were in 4th and 5th place, the odds of that happening must be small!

Boy, would I love to see this in real life, rather than virtually.
      That said, great capture!

Wonderful shot... it looks like you're in the air- it appears that you're looking down at that plane. But, I take it you were at the fairgrounds for the Pet Fair? The sky was amazing, I couldn't see it from Colville, but my Mom sent pictures from Post Falls. How was Pet Fest? We meant to go, but forgot that it was this weekedn. :(

Congratulations! This image is currently one of Flickr's most interesting photos for 03 June 2006. (It is on page one of the calendar view.) Would you please add it to the Interestingness pool? It would be a great addition!

    42. austinspace (73 months ago | reply)

I'm flabbergasted by the attention this photo has received, but very grateful! Thanks everybody.

lawatha, PetFest was a lot of fun. We went to take pictures of my coworker tossing his frisbee to his dog, but he didn't show up! But we got lots of other pix of that event, and my wife wanted to take several of the adoptable kitties home with us. Definitely go next year!
