Grey Skies

Grey Skies by aussiegall.
A dragonfly on one of my daisy bushes. I was tossing up which photo to use for Project 365 today and decided that the bug wins, then thought that because it was Mothers Day over here the roses would be better suited for the day.
I took this using a very high tech diffuser. It works brilliantly.
Thanks to Imarsman who had his idea posted on his photostream.See this link for details

Hi alex thanks for the comment. I took the photo in my backyard. We have a fish pond, a water barrell and a large terracotta pot that are all full of water and have water plants in them. These little guys have discovered them and lay their eggs in them. I have lots of dragonfly larvae in them which is great because they eat all the mosquito larvae that accumulates, the only problem is if I clean out the pond or containers I have to be careful not to toss them out with the water. They then mature into dragonflies and hang around our backyard.

This is fantastic - he looks as if he's holding on by his tiny little finger tips so the wind doesn't blow him away! Love it :)

This is lovely. The dragon fly is so delicate it's almost invisible, but the focus has made it stand out. Gorgeous.

Wow, this is an absolutely amazing shot for many reasons. The framing of the dragonfly clinging onto the bud, the detail in the macro, the dragonfly's eye and the DOF are all superb!
