30 Days of Gratitude- Day 29

On Saturday I was grateful that we had our work Christmas party. This year it was a harbour cruise on Sydney Harbour. It rained for the first 15 minutes and then cleared up to be a pleasant night.
I am also grateful that I got this picture. I had many that came out blurred. Long exposures plus a moving boat, do not make for a great photo. This is the best one of the night, did a HDR effect to help bring out the colours.
I still have to post my last day of gratitude. It has been so hectic lately that I have had trouble keeping up day to day.

Louise, that ended as a brilliant image. The red flashes of colour capture action and movement so well. I like it a lot.

      Beautiful photograph, beautiful building!

I too had just heard this on the news:

Jorn Utzon, Sydney Opera House architect, dead at 90
      Los Angeles Times
      December 1, 2008
Jorn Utzon, the Danish architect whose nautically inspired design for the Sydney Opera House in Australia overcame a series of controversies surrounding its budget and acoustics to become one of the most recognizable landmarks of the 20th century, helping to usher in our current era of buildings beloved for their daring and photogenic forms, has died. He was 90.

Oh, my goodness. Take my breath away why don't you!
I've been there (all the way from New Brunswick, Canada) and I didn't think the opera house would be one of the most beautiful things i'd see there...but there's just something about it !
      You captured it awesomely here.
and gave me motivation to post my canberra/sydney 2003 photos :)

Without doubt on of the best harbours in the world. Given the long exposure and the movement of the boat you did a great job. Don't worry to much as most people on the boat would have seen this a bit blurry anyway after a few refreshments. Very nice indeed.

Not many buildings make my heart melt but the Opera House does it to me every time and this is one of the most beautiful representations I've seen.
Well done Louise, rockin boat and all!!
This also makes me acknowledge in turbulent times how thankful I am for living in peaceful Sydney...
