Torre de Belém
Belém is a small riverside town close to Lisbon, Portugal. This curious little fortress juts out into the river where it broadens out into the sea. Although not actually situated in Lisbon, its towers have become a symbol for the city. Shortly after this picture was taken, a wave of Atlantic washed over me. Thanks to Haglöf (and to Maurice, who gave me the great Spitz Jacket for Christmas) the camera survived (and I got away with a cold ;-))

Ik herkende het al op de thumbnail, al is het twee decennia geleden dat ik er was: onmiskenbaar de Toren van Belem!

Wat een mooi stukje historie. Trots afstekend tegen dat water.
Wat heb je een geluk gehad met je camera, zo'n foto wordt ineens een stuk minder fraai als het je je camera kost.

Ik was al wel in Belém in Brazilië, genoemd naar deze plaats in Portugal.
Zoiets moois hebben ze dara niet.
Wat eens schrik, zeg, die golf water over je heen. Gelukkig worden we van een verkoudheid wel weer beter!
