San Francisco, CA
Taken as I approached the Jet Blue Gate located in the International Terminal at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). I had a direct flight from San Francisco back to Austin and for some strange reason Jet Blue's gate is located in the International Terminal. I like the modern lines of airports and there was a nice architectural symmetry here broken up by the silhouette of the traveler.

Main Street, Taylor, TX
The ornate brick and stone facade of the Taylor National Bank building in Taylor, Texas. The building was built in 1894 and today, it is one of the few well preserved structures in downtown Taylor.

Downtown, Taylor, TX
The KINCL building in downtown Taylor, Texas. For some reason, I was visually struck by the appearance of this building as I drove into town. The bold KINCL sign and the optimistic 50s looking modernist architecture is in stark contrast to the reality of its fading state. I shot several different angles but I like this image of the warmth of the setting sun against the gracefully aging storefront.

Main Street, Taylor, TX
The Howard Movie theater in downtown Taylor, Texas. There are many empty stores in Taylor but the movies theater appears to be doing well. As I took a bunch of images to capture the best composition and catch the peak color, I noticed a steady stream of customers entering the building. The red neon, the blue to yellow sky gradient and the warm golden lights, they all came together as I captured the subtle mix of colors in a small Texas town.
