Opened in 1929, Atlanta's Fabulous Fox Theatre was originally intended as part of a large Shrine temple as evidenced by its Moorish design. The theatre cost 2.75 Million to build. It was completed by movie mogul William Fox who was building movie theatres around the county. The premiere of the Movie "Gone With the Wind" is frequently associated with this theatre because the celebrities stayed in the Georgian Terrace Hotel across the street, but was actually held at the Loew's Grand Theatre which is now destroyed.
