Creamy Durian

it's durian season over here! and i live in an area that's surrounded by durian plantations - so it's durian everyday since no one could stop my dad buying 'em daily & they sell it right at the beginning of the road into our house!

the fruit is heaty though, we have to counter it off by drinking gallons of water.

i like it with glutinous rice & coconut milk syrup. nyum nyum...

frozen durian? must be good... i make them into durian ice-cream though, beats those from the supermarket/ice-cream parlor anytime!

stinky? well... to each its' own... i love the smell of durian but have to admit, the smell is strong, there's a saying, you can never hide durian in a house or if you have been eating it!

those not used to it might find stinky, but once you taste it... sheer ecstasy... i'd say it taste like sweet creamy mascapone left out in the sun a wee bit too long... you'd either love it or hate it - like some ppl can't stand the smell of certain cheese.

note: not all asian love durian, my sister hates durian since small, she's been living in constant terror for the past months because of my dad's durian madness, she's even started blaming durian smell for her constant headache!!
