Heyho!
This is a pic from a short shoot with Cecilia in Rome.
Lovely afternoon with beautiful low sun shining.
I don't really understand why she didn't really like this shot
although I think it's pretty awesome.
I shot this Monday, now I'm in Switzerland visiting my friend Phil.
Lotsa good stuff coming up :)
Strobist: SB28 into 60x60 Lastolite Ezybox pointed at model from cam above, triggered by PC cable. Light source was about 2m from model and exposure was left intentionally high key.
Editing:
- B&W conversion in Silver Efex Pro.
- Added contrast and structure.
- B&W layer in luminosity mode to bring back color.
- Vintage/high key color correction look via RGB curves.

This is an awesome shot. I really like the haziness caused by the sun rays, the composure of the subject (Cecelia) the shadows on the steps and the background.

Can I ask you someting? The exif info says the shutter speed was 1/500, and you wrote that you used an off-camera flash. What is the highest possible flash sync speed on the M8?

hi! the maximum official syn on the m8 is 1/250 but at 1/500 the curtain gap is wide enough so that I recovered the underexposed area with minimal post processing.
Also the flash is there just for some fill, so it wasn't lighting critical zones :)
