Garlic heads (ail rose de Lautrec)

I got these 3 garlic heads from my Mum yesterday...all the way from France! This is locally known as 'ail rose de Lautrec' or pink garlic from Lautrec. My favourite of course! It's a fairly big crop where I'm from in South-West France (Albi in the Tarn departement). I even spent a week harvesting 2 summers in a row when I was 16 & 17. We all reeked of garlic by the end of the week as you can imagine! Not that it put me off, au contraire, it made the bond stronger! I even eat garlic raw.... new season garlic (not quite dry yet) has a sweet edge and is as crunchy as a good apple, try it! Of course, have some fresh parsely ready to freshen up your breath :))

Oh, these 2 shots are my very first postings with the new camera...

How about reenforcing stereotypes eh?The Frenchman with a row of garlic around their neck!!!
In the end we are all mamas boys. Mine came to visit and brought kilos of feta cheese from back home:)
I like the unceremonious topic of garlic as a first theme for new camera postings. Showingoff some contrasty colours there. Did you use flash?

Ah, one of your Mum's legendary packages. What else was in there? Some boxes of 'stuff'? :)

I like garlic a lot, but I've got problems in my stomach, so now I can't eat it anymore...

I like this shot with the stems bending over. The colors and the shiny wood surface. I'm not sure what you do to the background in some of your photos...but I love the painted quality of the background. I also saw the same look/feel in the dandelion photo (I think it was titled "escape").

      Beautiful work.

Pour l'amateur d'ail que tu es, je crois que tu vas être à tes pièces, comme nous disons en France!!! Alors bon appétit et surtout bonne haleine... Belle photo quand même.
