More from Akureyri. This is Bautinn, a rather nice restaurant in the center of Akureyri. I've always found the house lovely.

Last Thursday my HDR photoset was featured on digg. Which is kind of cool, because a lot of new audience rush in to see your work. And then follows the "discussion" on digg with countless anonymous people giving comments like: "Yah, these are way too ridiculous", "Ugly Fugly", "awful. just disgusting", "These fake HDR photos are ***** retarded" and "Awful, terrible" is a blast. I'm actually really proud of having produced work that evokes such strong reaction. I really wish those commenters had the courage to speak out under their real names.

Too funny about DIGG! An interesting community, for sure, but I can't imagine anyone not appreciating your work--it's masterful. You are right about eliciting strong reactions-- having watched Simon Schama's Power of Art series on PBS here, it amazed me to see that the masters we are still studying and appreciating were the object of so much criticism and venom. So you are in the best of company, as you know.

I love this one. It is surreal and elicits a feeling of great loneliness similar to what I feel when I look at hopper's work, just on a grander scale!

Looking around your HDR's you've definitely got a style and skill that's up there with the best of 'em. The composition,subject (rusting, delapidated machinery within an inspiring lanscape), detail & processing. When I've played with HDR I've been trying to get to where you are.

But ironically this one is the weakest & least appealing to me - sorry. This one's got great composition but the processing does look a little like you just crunched the HDR Sliders.

I have generally found that when I get a negative comment the person has very few good photos on their own photostream! your work is fabulous! congrats!!!! And this one on front page!! at least at #3 where I saw it!
