soil moisture and surface hardness of golf course putting greens

In 647 paired measurements of volumetric soil moisture to a 7.5 cm depth and surface hardness of greens measured with a 500 g Clegg soil impact tester, these are the trends for the five grass species tested. The lines represent the LOESS smooth for data of each species. The marginal rug plots show the distribution of the measurements. Korai is Zoysia matrella; serangoon is Digitaria didactyla, paspalum is Paspalum vaginatum.
