The bold quotes are what medical professionals have said to me, the unbolded are the general public. Of course these are just a selection, some i have heard many times. I have focussed on medical ones as it hurts the most coming from them...

Most of the comments are crass, ignorant or self serving (or all three) - that one's bizarre. What was the recommendation, use a stopwatch?

yes, poke self in eye first (but only a little bit) then start the clock!

Maybe I should think "Oh i have not cried in a week, there may be a build up of emotional frustration i am not aware of: i should let a bit out just in case!"

Whose life is like that!?! Psychologists eh?
